DESTRUCTION UNIT (Sacred Bones Records, mem. The Reatards)CLICK CHRISTOPHER NOBODY AND THE NOTHING CUNTZ (Australia)CLICK + 1 more, TBA 9pm $10 tickets::: HERE /// VICE: CLICK P4K: “When skull-mining Arizona desert punks Destruction Unit shared their last single, “Sonic Pearl”, it came with a footnote suggesting their next LP, Deep Trip, would somehow be more massive in sound than what they’ve conjured thus far— a deliberate and collosal punk assault with heavier production. The story goes that these guitar-wielding progenitors of all things evil, psychedelic, and loud-as-fuck have been going for a decade, but Deep Trip is actually the first studio LP from the latest incarnation of Destruction Unit, recorded in Brooklyn by the Men’s Ben Greenberg with Kyle Keays. On opener “The World on Drugs”, the five-piece pummel forth with razorsharp feedback wahs of terror and gloom, deftly made walls of head-bashing noise, tightly strangled melodies— and in general it’s unclear whether this weed-laced thesis statement wants to wreck civilization, save it, or forego it entirely.”P4K ARTICLE + STREAMING
